Indie Spotlight: Hello Waffle Cosmetics!

Hey everyone! Time for another Indie Spotlight post!

This time around, the indie brand we'll be checking out is a company that hails from Quebec, Canada and is named after a cat, Hello Waffle Cosmetics!

Christine, the owner of Hello Waffle had contacted me and asked if I'd like to review some of her products. I had heard of Hello Waffle at the time, but had never ordered or tried anything so needless to say, I was super excited for the opportunity!

Let's start with some eyeshadow collections and swatches!

Ouroboros

Features 7 eyeshadows. ((Accidentally left a makeup wipe ontop of some of these and it messed up the cute little graphic/label, poo!))

Sloth - Light olive brown with green sparks
Lust - Dark berry with purple and blue shifts
Wrath- Muted dark gray-green with silver sparks

Pride - Warm dark lilac with light purple sparks
Envy - Medium forest green with multicoloured sparks
Greed - Golden pastel yellow with gold shimmer and blue sparkle
Gluttony - Rich dark chocolate brown with copper/red sparks

Some of my favorites from the Ouroboros collection are Lust, Pride, and Gluttony!

Greek Gods and Goddesses

Features 9 shadows.

Of The Wildland Light lilac with pink to blue shift and a twinkling of pink and purple shimmer.
Goddess of Love - Pale dusty pink with silver to green to blue shift.
The Renowned ArtificerA shimmering golden tan with green to red shift.
Light of the SunIntense metallic gold with a subtle red to blue shift and an explosion of blue and golden green sparkle.

Bringer of StormsStormy purple with a barrage of green to blue shift.
Savior of SailorsGlowing sapphire with turquoise to blue to violet shift.
The UnseenAn inconspicuous brown with silver-green to silver-red to green-gold shift. Some sparkle.
Of the Glinting HelmetDark helmet green with red to orange to pink shift.
Guide Into the UnderworldDark orange with red to gold to bronze shift.

Some of my favorites from the Greek Gods and Goddesses Collection are Bringer of Storms, The Unseen, Light of The Sun, and Savior of Sailors!

Let's move onto the blushes! I have two Hello Waffle blushes that are both absolutely gorgeous. Both colors are also super unique, and I don't have anything else quite like them in my own collection!

Malva and Regina

I'm pretty bad at blush swatches, but you can see that Malva is a beautiful warm orchid color with a satin finish. Regina is a little more interesting! Regina is described as a dark indigo with a periwinkle glow. I see some warmed red tones when I swatched this, but it's beautiful nonetheless! I haven't worn it on my face yet, but it would make a beautiful blush with a light hand, or a striking, more intense contour shade! Both are quite pigmented, but not to the point of not being able to blend them out nicely. You can layer on the color for a more intense look, or just apply a sheer wash for a pretty kiss of color on your cheeks!
Hello Waffle has a gorgeous selection of blush colors. Including some staple, basic colors that everyone loves, and some more unique blush shades that you just can't find elsewhere.

Next I have just a few lip colors to share as well!

I've had the chance to try two lipsticks and three glosses and I've already decided on my favorites!

Rose and Orchid are both lipstick shades. Rose is a gorgeous warm, rose pink. It's just muted enough that it's not too vibrant to wear daily. Orchid is a vibrant warm purple. I love how bright this shade is, but it's got just enough pink in it to make it totally wearable! The lipsticks come in a slim-line style tube, which I love. Traditional lipstick bullets are usually way too big for me to get a nice application without a lip brush.

The three lip gloss colors I have are It's Mauvelous! which is a perfect mauve color. Audrey 2 is a bright magenta with green sparkles. Marsala is a pretty true marsala color, a bit on the more brown side of the shade. It's perfect for the 2015 color of the year and will only be available during 2015!
It's Mauvelous is my favorite, FAVORITE of all three! It seriously has not left my purse since I got it, except to show it and take swatch photos! The glosses are all packaged pretty traditionally with a doe-foot applicator wand.

Overall, I am so in love with everything I've tried from Hello Waffle Cosmetics! They're definitely a great indie brand with the cutest packaging, label designs, color names, collections, ugh. Just everything! If you've tried Hello Waffle before, what are some of your favorite products? If you haven't, what products/colors are you lusting after?!

[All products sent to me by Hello Waffle Cosmetics. All opinions are my own, as always]

My Pretty Zombie: Top 10 Picks!!

Hey guys!!

I know this is a blog post you've ALL been waiting for...
I'm sure most of you know by now, that I've recently taken on the massive task of creating the eye swatches for the My Pretty Zombie website. (Most of you are aware by now that I have also done eye swatches for Concrete Minerals as well, and if you weren't, then yep, those ARE my eyeballs all over CM's website!) Well guess what? I'm FINALLY done!! I've finally completed this huge task I took on almost three months ago! Along with a massive sense of accomplishment, (and total eyeball world domination) I've gotten a LOT of questions about the brand and what my favorites are!
My Pretty Zombie is a brand I was familiar with only very briefly before getting in touch with Andrea, the owner of MPZ. Andrea is totally sweet, and we have very, VERY similar personalities, so our inner goth meshed well with one another xD. She had asked me if I was interested in working with her, and of course, I agreed. I had only tried one, limited edition eyeshadow from MPZ and was craving more! Little did I realize, that this little indie company had some shades that packed some SERIOUS punch! I can tell you right now, that almost every shadows I tried was hardly what it appeared to be. You may THINK you're putting on just a plain, slightly shimmery, medium brown eyeshadow, and suddenly tones of pink, purple, and flashes of red come to life on your eyelid. Honestly MPZ has some of the most unique shades I have ever tried.

Let's just get onto the damn picks because I know that's why you're here! Listing them in no particular order, except alphabetical, because that's how my computer arranges things.

First up is 13 Gypsies. MPZ describes this shade as:  a warm heavy copper with copper glitter.
I do find it to be a slightly more golden-based than red-based copper, however, it is gorgeous nonetheless! I knew I was going to like this shade before I even took the shrink wrap off!

Next shade is Anthrax. You can find this color within The Husbandry Affliction collection. MPZ describes this shade as: Purple to Green with a gold to red shift.
The green shift is the most obvious in this color, but you can see the reddish undertones lurking within, the gold shift is very slight, but green tends to dominate it a bit more. Purples and greens are two of my favorite colors, so putting them together like this is an instant win in my book!

Third on the list is Black Eye. MPZ describes this color as: a dark red with a slight purple tinge that looks like you took a punch.
I really don't think it can get more accurate than that!! I found with this shade, that depending on where your put it and how you blended it, it can be super complex. Notice the shadow in the crease, that is NOT another color I'm wearing along with Black Eye!

Brisket. This color can be found within the Butcher Shop Collection on the website. MPZ describes this shade as: copper with a red to gold shift.
ARE. YOU. SEEING. THIS?! Seriously. One eyeshadow, is capable of this result. If you look at this shade and go 'meh', just don't even talk to me ever. This eyeshadow is incredible and it literally makes me stutter.

Next up on my list is Dissolution. You can find this color within the Blue Period Collection on the website. MPZ describes this as: Purple/blue base.
Let's be honest, that description does nothing for this beautiful color! There is some seriously amazing pink/purple/reddish glitter and shimmer running through this color. Paired with the purple and blue base, it is just one of the most beautiful things I've ever laid my eyes on. (Or have laid on my eyes?)

Another star from the Blue Period Collection is Infirmary. MPZ describes this as: Mossy green/blue base.
Again, the description doesn't do this guy justice! There are bolts of light green and goldish (not like, super yellow gold) glitter and shimmer running through this shade! Honestly if you're going to pick one collection, and you like blue, super shimmery eyeshadow, go for The Blue Period. You will NOT be disappointed!

Next is mNg no. 2. MPZ describes this shade as: Peachy pink with a golden green shift.
I'm not really usually a huge fan of pinks, BUT, the greenish/blue/teal duochrome running through this shadow is incredible! (Can you tell I'm a sucker for duochromes yet?)

Pasty Ass. MPZ describes this shade as:  a very light matte beige.
I actually love this color. And you're probably thinking to yourself "seriously? wtf?" BUT I DO! I love that it has some amount of grey in it (on me, keep in mind, my skin is basically translucent) and I think it's a pretty taupe color. It would be perfect as a transitioning shade for cool-toned looks!

Scurvy. MPZ describes this shade as: Less annoying than the real thing! This fabulous color is orange orange shimmer!
On me, this is a gorgeous, rusty orange shade. (I'm trying to remember the last time I heard 'gorgeous' and 'rusty' in the same sentence...)

Last, but never least, is Static. MPZ describes this color as: beetle green with a gold sheen.
Couldn't go without including a green of course! This color is absolutely beautiful and the golden shimmer is to die for!

Although I thought it was impossible to narrow it down to 10, I guess this will have to do. There are SOO many other gore-geous shades to choose from as well, depending on what you're looking for! I had a ridiculously fun time working with MPZ and Andrea, and I can't wait to use these shadows in my daily looks! I would definitely recommend you check MPZ out. Tell them Biohazardous Beauty sent you! ;D

Lunatick Cosmetics Labs Palettes Swatchfest!

Hey guys!
Today I've got a pretty epic swatchfest for you, featuring four of the brand new palettes from Lunatick Cosmetic Labs!

Recently, Lunatick had re-packaged their palettes. Instead of the 6-pan palettes, they've changed to 5-pan palettes, with EPIC packaging and larger shadows. These palettes now feature an amazing coffin design, including classic horror icons, and even a BAT SHAPED MIRROR! I picked up 4 out of the 6 palettes, only because I already have the Zombie Defense Palette in the old packaging, and Relic was a little too neutral for my liking, but I may have to still grab it at a later date! ;D

Now, go ahead and grab a snack, and maybe something to drink, and get ready for a photo and swatch fest of these gorgeous palettes!

Hocus Pocus Palette

Left to Right: Sacrifice, Lime Lagoon, Phantom Craft, Omen, Pumpkin Queen
Favorite shades: Phantom Craft and Sacrifice
Oracle Palette

Left to Right: Intuition, Spirit, Premonition, HooDoo, Summon
Favorite shades: HooDoo and Premonition
Supernatural Palette

Left To Right: Invocation, Myth, Spook, Reincarnation, Ghoulight
Favorite shades: Invocation and Myth
Beauty From The Crypt Palette

Left to Right: Enchanting Elvira, Vampira, Lustful Lily, Bloody Mary, Magical Morticia
Favorite shades: Bloody Mary and Magical Morticia
All of these are swatched over Lunatick Prime Time white base, the colors are SO GOREgeous! I have a few critiques, but nothing I can't easily look past for these beauties. First, some of the photos on the packaging are a little low-res. This only bothers me because I've got quite a background in graphic design, most people probably won't even notice it. Second, the names of the shadows are NOT printed on the palette. I'm dumb and forgot to take photos before I wrote on them, but I took a micron pen and hand wrote all the names of the shadows on the palettes. I know some people don't care to know, but the names are on the website, and I like to know and be able to tell you the name of the shadow I'm using.

I cannot WAIT to start doing looks with these palettes! Some of the more matte shades are slightly chalky, but they're all crazy pigmented and soft. They also each come with individual acrylic pressers, so if your shadow ever becomes damaged or crumbly, it's easy to just press it back into shape, good as new!

You can check out these palettes at:
http://www.lunaticklabs.com/
and I KNOW some of you horror and makeup enthusiasts, like myself, will just die over them!

Brazen Cosmetics Spring Friends with Benefits Package!

Hey guys!
Today's post is all about being friends, with benefits.
But not with just anyone, I'm talking about being friends with benefits with Brazen Cosmetics!

Brazen offers a monthly, subscription type package (think Ipsy, or Birchbox, but only with one brand) of varying levels, and this month I was lucky enough to be sent one of their Spring packages!
(Read about the FWB program here!: http://shop.brazencosmetics.com/pages/friends-with-benefits)

This package is a typical GOLD level. 3 eyeshadow samples, 1 lip product sample size, and 1 full size lip product!

I got three, beautiful eyeshadow samples in the shades Out Loud, Audacious, and Guilty Pleasure. They're perfect spring, bright colors!

Swatched over Concrete Minerals Electric Eye Primer

I also received a sample lip product in the shade Charged, and a full sized lip product in the shade In Yo' Face!

Again, two colors just in time for spring/summer makeup looks!

Wearing all three shadows in Out Loud, Audacious over NYX jumbo pencil in Milk, and Guilty Pleasure as a liner using Medusa's Makeup Eyeliner Seal

  • What I'm Wearing;

Wearing all three shadows, and Charged on my lips
Often, FWB packages received never before released colors, not available for purchase on the Brazen website! This is both a good and a bad thing, good, because you're wearing them before anyone else! Not so good, because it can be difficult to get a hold of them if you decide to repurchase. All in all, I think the FWB program is a wonderful way to test drive a company if you're unsure about purchasing full size products!
